Alumni Story

Nutrition Science Program Alumni has been working in various fields. One of them is Mardiana, Nutrition Science Program Alumni class of 2014 who have travelled to various parts of Indonesia to take part in nutrition problem prevention.

One of the most interesting experience is when Mardiana joined Team Based Nusantara Sehat, a program from Ministry of Health to increase the health worker in remote areas. Mardiana was sent to Keerom, Papua, an area in Papua New Guinie – Indonesia border. During those time Mardiana got a chance to visit Somografi, a remote village with fresh air which cannot be accessed using transportation since there are no road access. Somografi can be reached by 6 hours walking when the weather is good and 9 hours walking when the weather is bad or rain since during the rain the road is slippery and river flows is heavier. Mardiana’s story as a Nutritionist in Nusantara Sehat can be accessed through https://diandalamkata.blogspot.com/

“By studying in Nutrition Science Program of Unhas we could be able to develop our academic and non-academic skills. We were supervised by Professors and Lecturers in Public Health and Clinical Nutrition so that we could implement our knowledge and give the impact to the community. In Nutrition Science we were learning to become a competitive and innovative nutritionist. I am grateful that I could be able to learn from Professors and Lecturers of Nutrition Science in Hasanuddin University.”
